I first used BS7 Driveways in early 2019, they did a really good professional job on one part of my driveway.

I have now had them back to complete the rest of the drive which is over 160m long, it’s been edged with cobblestones with part tarmac (black) and part tarmac with stone embedded in.

I have since recommended them twice to friends and I’m sure I will find more for them to do this year…

We recently used Mark and his team at BS7 in October 2018 to drop a kerb outside our house and then put in a paved parking area.  From the initial quotation Mark also dealt  with the necessary paperwork.   We have been very pleased with the end result.    Mark employs a very capable and conscientious team of guys that worked hard to get the project finished on time and within budget who at all times were mindful of limiting any inconvenience to nearby neighbours and passing pedestrians during the works.    There were also plenty of helpful suggestions from Mark both before and during the project especially in relation to the choice of materials and the retention of some existing features. I would not hesitate to recommend BS7.

I saw Mark on a nearby job and grabbed him as I was being given the run-around by another contractor. He took time to come round there and then and look at the job we needed. We didn’t have a drive – the driveway needed to be constructed into what was then our back garden. A section of the boundary wall and a brick outbuilding needed removal, along with extensive excavation & new retaining walls. Mark’s team were always on time, tidy, friendly and clearly experienced in what they were doing. Mark has all the necessary equipment so nothing needed to be hired in or sub-contracted out – in my book it’s a real bonus when you only have a single point of contact. Communication throughout the works was excellent, I had no trouble getting time with Mark whenever I needed to speak with him – in fact he often made suggestions on how the “plan” could be improved.  They excavated some 60 tons of spoil, and built the new retaining walls from my existing, old bricks (which they cleaned off) to retain the existing look of the garden. The end result is exactly what we wanted and was at the agreed price – I would recommend BS7 to anyone

We spoke to Mark at length before his team started work on our driveway and found him to be extremely helpful in terms of not just taking on board what we were after, but also drawing on his vast experience to come up with a few suggestions that made all the difference. For example, the sort of cobble that we used, which perfectly complemented the age of the property, and the way that the driveway was shaped to include a border that means we’ve got plenty of space to park both of our cars but also retain a front garden. We’re delighted with the end result, which has transformed the front of our house. We’ve had a lot of compliments and would have no hesitation in recommending Mark and his team. Hi Mark

‘We live in a large Victorian house in Bristol which due to its prominent position and architectural features is a listed building. The house has been converted into four flats and has a large front driveway which allows for car parking and access.

The driveway of around 120 m2 was covered in tarmac which had deteriorated over many years and was in dire need of upgrading; however we were reluctant to simply lay fresh tarmac over the existing. At the same time we wanted to create a car parking area for four cars that was clearly separated from the access area.

We discussed the issues with Mark from BS7 and he was able to draw on his experience to advise us on the alternatives. After much discussion we opted for a combination of cobbles for the car parking area which blended with the appearance of the property together with tarmac of the remaining access area. Mark provided examples of the cobbles that we could choose from and provided a quote. We then shopped around and came back to BS7 due to their undoubted experience and competitive price. However it’s not just about the price when you have a landmark building, it’s also about quality of workmanship and confidence in the contractor appointed.

The works are now completed and we are all delighted with the outcome. We have no hesitation in recommending Mark and BS7 Driveways.’

Mark visited my property to assess the work required to repair a 15m area of crumbling bitmac driveway. He explained what he would do and we discussed two options. He provided a quotation for each option by email and I chose the lower priced option. Mark and his two men returned after two weeks and spent one hour preparing the site, which included raising and levelling an inspection cover. They came back the next day, quickly scraped off the crumbling surface layer down to the firm base layer. They then laid, rolled and carefully cut in a surface layer of bitmac to a depth of about 20 to 30 mm. The job took about one hour and the site was left clean. Mark and his men worked efficiently. They were helpful, pleasant, provided exactly the right solution and at a competitive price.
